August, better known as DOGust, is international birthday month for all shelter dogs whose birthdays are unknown!
So, with that being said, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all shelter dogs! Since these cuties deserve the best, why not celebrate them all month long? Below are some recipes and ideas to celebrate your dog and give them the birthday bash they deserve!
Coconut Berry Dog Cake Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups coconut flour
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
- ¼ cup blueberries
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons honey
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Mix together honey, eggs, and melted coconut oil.
- Stir in flour and blueberries
- Grease one 4-inch pan with coconut oil
- Fill with batter and bake for 20-25 minutes
- Remove and let cool
Sweet Potato Carrot Dog Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- ½ cup sweet potato puree
- ½ cup shredded carrots
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons melted cocnut oil
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ cup water
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Mix together honey, coconut oil, and sweet potato puree
- Add almond flour, baking powder, water, and carrots
- Grease pan with coconut oil
- Add batter and bake 20-25 minutes
- Remove and let cool
Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream
Ingredients:
- 4 bananas
- ½ cup peanut butter
Directions:
- Peel and slice bananas
- Freeze bananas
- Put frozen bananas in blender and blend
- Keep blending until it’s smooth, banana ice cream
- Add peanut butter and mix well
- Pour into ice trays and freeze
